Planting Continues, Strawberries at Cheshire Med Mkt 6/4

Good Evening! We’re stacking busy weeks over here getting everything in the ground as fast as we can. Last friday we planted 900ft of cantaloupe and watermelon, Tuesday it was 1200’ of peppers and eggplant, and this Friday it’ll be a few thousand feet of winter squash, summer squash, and zucchini! Plus lots of PYO flowers for the CSA, beds of lettuce, herbs, and brassicas. We’re keeping on top of weeds and got every bed cultivated and hoed this week, direct seeded radishes and salad greens, and cleaned up some perennial beds. It’s a whirlwind on the farm but we’re keeping on top of things while we can. We’ll have a large spread at the hospital market tomorrow (more below) complete with strawberries from Warner Farm and a wide assortment of local greens and storage veggies. We’re a week out from picking our own from the fields, so still relying on local farms for the markets and store but everything looks great and we’ll be flush with our own produce before we know it! We hope to see you this week!

Farmers Market at Cheshire Medical Center Thursday 6/4

We’ll be in the cafeteria of Cheshire Med on Thursday 6/4 from 10am - 2pm. The cafeteria is downstairs and you can access it from the main entrance and go downstairs or by driving around to the back entrance (there is construction around the back entrance but you can still access it).

Strawberries from Warner Farm have arrived! We got lots of flats for the market tomorrow. Lots of new greens from Picadilly Farm this week while we wait for the beds in our fields to get going. Kale, chard, spinach, spring greens, radishes, and salad turnips, plus our own winecap mushrooms, flowers, and plant starts.
