Planting Season is Upon Us, Markets, Farm Stand

Evening Folks, keeping it quick tonight because we are flat out trying to keep up with our planting schedule. We’re doing well but even getting a little off schedule can cause the workload to avalanche quickly. The fun thing about diversified veggies is that planting season doesn’t really stop until September. We are running our transplanter or direct seeding every week of the summer starting in May until about mid to late September, into October if you count the greenhouses, and even November if we’re counting Garlic! (although by then it’s not every week). We’re always prepping beds and getting ready for the next crop to go in, so for the time being it’s long days and short nights, but luckily we are surrounded by the beauty of the natural world every day to keep us grounded. I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

This week we’ll be at our regular markets starting on Thursday at Cheshire Medical Center then Saturday in Keene. The farm store is stocked up and the plant stand is full. We’re leaning on our friends with farms to keep greens and veggies in the store and markets while we wait for the fields to start producing. It’s not long now and we can’t wait to get more of our own produce into our markets and store, but luckily we’ve got some very skilled growers nearby for the time being!

Farmers Market at Cheshire Medical Center Thursday 5/28

We’ll be in the cafeteria of Cheshire Med on Thursday 5/28 from 10am - 2pm. The cafeteria is downstairs and you can access it from the main entrance and go downstairs or by driving around to the back entrance (there is construction around the back entrance but you can still access it).
